Terms of Service

Last updated: Oct 9, 2025

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using PrepSync ("the Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and subscribers.

2. Eligibility & Accounts
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use PrepSync. Users under 18 should have parental awareness of their use.
  • You are responsible for your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Do not share your account with others.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account. PrepSync reserves the right to suspend accounts created with false information.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Acceptable Use
  • No unlawful, infringing, harassing, or abusive activity.
  • No automated scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading of content.
  • No circumventing rate limits, paywalls, or access controls.
  • No sharing, reselling, or redistributing paid content outside your account.
  • No submitting harmful, malicious, or illegal content through CardCut or any other feature.
  • Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
  • Paid plans (monthly or season) renew automatically until canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription from the account portal at any time.
  • All fees are charged in USD. Prices are subject to change with notice.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel mid-cycle, access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend access to your account until payment is resolved.
5. AI-Generated Content (CardCut)

CardCut uses artificial intelligence to generate debate cards from source material you provide. AI output is provided for informational and educational purposes only. PrepSync does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated cards. You are solely responsible for verifying citations, evidence, and factual claims before using any CardCut output in competition or academic settings. PrepSync is not liable for any consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

6. Intellectual Property
  • PrepSync, its branding, and its proprietary software are owned by PrepSync and its licensors. All rights reserved.
  • You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Service for your own debate preparation.
  • Debate cards in the database are sourced from publicly available materials. PrepSync does not claim ownership over underlying third-party content.
  • You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g., CardCut inputs), but grant PrepSync a limited license to process it to deliver the Service.
7. Termination

PrepSync may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or any activity we determine to be harmful to the Service or other users. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or via the account portal. Upon termination, your access to paid features ends immediately.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. PrepSync does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results obtained from use will be accurate or reliable. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PrepSync and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, data loss, or competitive disadvantage — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to PrepSync in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Florida, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
